Sailing

The North Erie Yacht Club sponsors both cruising and sailboat racing events throughout the summer season. For the racing sailors the major event is the Ashtabula race which is held the first week in July. Many Port Bruce sailors are currently members of the Canadian Yachting Association which oversees Canada's racing and recreational sailing activities.

Fishing

Lake Erie Yellow Perch and Walleye are favourites for local and visiting fisherman. The Department of Fisheries and Oceans regulates Canada's fishing activities and Coast Guard Canada maintains the pier light and navigation buoy at the entrance to the Port Bruce harbour. Fishing licenses may be obtained locally at The Bruce General store.

Environment Canada maintains vital weather information for Port Bruce sailors and fishermen.
