He married probably in Ireland, MARY ANN SHERLOCK, who was born in Ireland about 1776 and died at Dereham Twp., 20 August 1849. They had children, James, John, HENRY, who married ELEANOR CHRISTIE, and resided at Malahide Twp., Elgin Co., Abner, Eleanor, Matthew, Robert, Frank, ISAAC, who resided at Bayham Twp., Elgin Co. JOHNSON / JOHNSTON- The descendants of Humphrey (1786 - 1863) and Margaret (WHITCRAFT) JOHNSON / JOHNSTON of Malahide Township, Elgin County, Ontario.

JOHNSTON- EDWARD JOHNSTON / JOHNSON, was born at Armagh, Ireland, 17 August 1785 and died at Spring City Monona Co., Iowa, 1873. He married first SARAH BROWN and second PERCY (BALDWIN) CURTIS. By his first wife he had children, ELIZABETH (JOHNSTON) KOYLE, who died at Malahide Twp., March 1836; HARRIET (JOHNSON) MCINTOSH, who died at Springfield, Malahide Twp., Elgin Co., 21 October 1897; ROBERT LEWIS; AND MARGARET (JOHNSON) GUYMON, who with their father were early members of the LDS church and resided at Nauvoo, Illinois with other Mormons. Edward's brothers and sisters may have been , JOSEPH, ROBERT, FRANCES, HUGH, MARGARET, SARAH COWAN, ELIZABETH HASTINGS, GEORGE, MARY NORRIS, JOHN and SUSANNAH PARTLOW.

WHITCRAFT / WHITCROFT- THOMAS WHITCRAFT / WHITCROFT, was born probably at Monaghan, Ireland about 1821 and died at Brooke Twp., Lambton Co., Ontario, 3 October 1880. He married first RACHEL GAGE and second MARY. By his first wife he had children, JACOB, who died at St. Thomas, 29 December 1919; WILLIAM HENRY; MARGARET J. SAUNDERS and THOMAS NEWELL. NICKERSON- ELIUD NICKERSON, U.E.L., was born at Danbury, Fairfield Co., Connecticut, December 1760 and died at St. Catherines, Lincoln Co., Ontario, 30 March 1843. He married first MARY MARGARET FRITZ, who was probably born at New York about 1765 and died at St. Catherines, 22 March 1840. They were Loyalists, who left New York in 1783 for New Brunswick, later removed to Cobourg, Ontario and finally settled at Grantham Twp., Lincoln Co., Upper Canada. Their children were, NATHANIEL, who lived for a while at Malahide Twp., John, Eliud, Rebecca, LEVI, who died at Malahide Twp., 16 January 1872, Mary, Enos, Eunice, David Varien and Catherine. WHITESELL / WHITSELL- ANDREW WHITESELL, U.E.L., was born at Sussex Co., New Jersey, 1 October 1754 and died at Saltfleet Twp., Wentworth Co., Upper Canada, 26 October 1816. He married at New Jersey, 17 October 1785 ANNA VAN WEY. She was born at Oxford, Sussex Co., 17 October 1763 and died at Saltfleet Twp., 7 September 1810. They were Loyalists who settled in Upper Canada (now Ontario) in July of 1787. Their children were Elizabeth, Joseph, Andrew, Richard, DAVID, who died at Malahide Twp., 1 November 1862, Margaret, Moses, AARON, who died at Yarmouth Twp., Elgin Co., February 1870, DANIEL, who died at Malahide Twp., 28 January 1884 and Charles, who married Sarah Bentley at Malahide Twp., Elgin Co., 30 April 1827.

ALWARD / ALWOOD - DANIEL ALWARD, was born at New Jersey about 1727 and his will was filed at Lincoln County, Niagara District, Upper Canada, 19 March 1801. He married JEMIMA and they had at least four children, Jemima, who married Silas Carter, Daniel, Jr., Hulda and William. FELKER / VÖLCKEL / VOELCKELELIZABETH (FELKER) WHITESELL, was born probably at Niagara District, Upper Canada, 5 April 1801 or 24 April 1800 and died at Malahide Twp., 29 August 1875. She married DANIEL WHITESELL. She may have had sisters, ANNA (FELKER / VÖLCKEL) LAFEY, who died at Malahide Twp., 4 April 1891, age 94 and LYDIA FELKER, who died at Malahide Twp., 29 June 1880, age 75. They are believed to be descendants from Völckel families who immigrated from Erndtebrück, Westfalen, Prussia (now Germany) to New Jersey just before the Revolutionary War then to Upper Canada about 1797. CARTER - SILAS CARTER was born at Morristown, Morris Co., New Jersey, 9 July 1765 and died at Bertie Twp., Welland Co., Ontario, 29 June 1856. He married first JEMIMA ALWARD who died before he married second, about 1833 MARGARET (BUCK) WATERHOUSE. By his first wife Silas had children, SALLY, who died at Malahide Twp., 27 October 1881, NICHOLAS, who died at Malahide Twp., 27 August 1861, Henry, Nancy, SILAS, who died at Malahide Twp., March 1856, JEMIMA, who married WALTER BROWN, and died at Malahide Twp., 23 July 1878, Phoebe, and Rebecca. MILLER - GILBERT MILLER., was born at New York or Upper Canada about 1796 and died at Malden Township, Essex Co., 28 August 1834. He married at Malahide Twp., Elgin Co., 11 March 1828, WILLEMPJE "WILMOT" VAN PETTEN / VAN PATTER, daughter of Nicholas Van Patten and Catherina Mabie. They had children, CORDELIA BROWN, SIMON VAN PATTER, and ALBERT OGDEN. Gilbert had sisters, HARRIET, who married Levi Nickerson, and died at Malahide Twp., 17 May 1828/1829; WILMOT, who married Eliud Nickerson, and BERTHENA, who married Nathaniel Nickerson, and died at Malahide Twp., 29 August 1851.It is believed that they were all children of OGDEN MILLER of Saratoga Co., New York. GOFF - MATILDA GOFF was born at Massachusetts about 1796 and died at Port Bruce, Ontario, 5 October 1873. She married RUFUS YOUNG and they had at least 12 children. It is believed that she had sisters, SARAH, who was the second wife of LEVI NICKERSON, IRENA, who was the second wife of JAMES CARPENTER, and ABIGAIL, who was the second wife of LEMUEL DILTS. They may have had a brother DAVID GOFF who married MARY THAYER.
