1. See Compendium of American Families, Vol. 7, p. 697 and the Encyclopedia of Biography, Vol. 8, p. 3. Andrew's birth date is calculated from his grave stone age and death date. Bruce Johnson took photographs of the tombstones of Andrew and Margaretha in 1990. The cemetery was very overgrown and unkept at the time but the stones were quite readable. Dick Musselman read the g.s. in 1997 and believes that it reads "Margareth." He was not able to read an "a" at the end of the word.
2. Next to the stones of Andrew and Margaretha is a g.s. for "John Saml / Green / Born The / 1695 / Depart April 11, 1775." The Genealogical Magazine of New Jersey, Vol. 40, p. 105 gives transcriptions. Also of interest is the notation for the g.s. of Israel Swayze, "who was born on Long Island, and removed with his father to Roxbury, in Morris Co., and from thence removed to Oxford, Sussex Co." d. Aug. 27, 1774, aged 53 yrs. & 10 mos.
