Wikwemikong Annual Pow Wow

powwow3.gif (40588 bytes) The Wikwemikong Annual Competition Pow Wow is held every first weekend in August. It is one of the largest and longest running Pow Wows held in North America. Traditional, Fancy, Jingle Dress and Grass Dancers as well as host and invited drum groups compete in their different categories for allotted prize money.

This remains true to this day, with drummers and dancers from not only across Canada, but the United States converging on this event. A wide variety of native cuisine's and colourful crafts make our Pow Wow one of the most popular in North America.
