Projects
Proposals should have a clear training plan, demonstrating a high possibility of employment for the trainee with the employer at the end of the project. The trainee should also have gained enough skills to be marketable in the field in which they have been trained. This program offers a maximum contribution of $8.00 / hour toward trainee wages, with training costs and overhead/capital costs (for non-profit sponsors) being negotiable.
Group Course Purchase
An employer/sponsor within the community identifies a need for group training. After the submitted proposal has been approved, the Employment Support Worker will work with the sponsor regarding assessments and selection of participants.
Group Course Purchase Allowances
Usually, the criteria for client-based allowances will apply, but the WLDM Board of Directors may make recommendations on stipends instead of allowances for the participants.
Youth Support (can also be client-based)
This program provides income support for youth who are either in-school or out-of-school. The support period is determined by the length of time required for the completion of a learning contract between the employer and youth.
